Match was Abandoned After 36.1 overs

Match report After winning the toss for a third succesive league mach Meigle inserted Arbroath Unied at Lochlands. After 36.1 overs of the Lichties innings at Lochlands and two lengthy rain delays, the match was called off by umpire Peter Redhead, with ex-Scotland player Kevin Thomson on 32 not out with the score 145 for 5. Denis Christie had figures of 3 for 15 after 9 overs and Iain Stewart had 1 for 13 off 6 overs. The ground fielding was untidy to begin with and although it improved after some stern words from the skipper, it will be worked on at training midweek. Charles Clark held a steepling catch at mid off and Calum Stewart took a tricky one at square leg off Christie.
As ever, Arbroath showcased its reputation as the number one cricket tea in Scotland.
Let's hope for better weaher for he double header next weekend.
