Match report The warmest and sunniest day of the year was the back drop to this twenty 20 cup tie. Glenrothes were worthy winners, as they had 12 runs to many for Meigle.
Glens batted well from the start, with Greaves, and former Meigle pro Watson, running well between the wickets. Steven Ross's left arm spin opened the bowling for Meigle along with Jamie Morrison. A couple of dropped catches and a missed run out opportunity later Craig Morrison caught ex-Scotland captain Ryan Watson of the bowling of captain Iain Stewart. Burns finally got Greaves caught behind by Drummond for 59 while left arm paceman Charlie Clark was at the other end and also had a catch behind taken by Drummond as he took the scalp of hard hitting Glens skipper Greig Hopcroft. Jamie Morrison bowled Pal late on as the new town Fifers finished on 137/4.
Meigle opened up with Burns and Christie. The Meigle top order set their stall out to play shots and Christie looked dangerous before being caught for 13. PJ Drummond was also looking threatening but fell for 17, followed by Chris Burns who top scored with 28, striking a sublime straight boundary in the process. Youngster Craig Morrison scored 18 but ran out of partners who would stay around long enough to build a significant partnership and despite Stewart hitting the last ball of the match for six, the Black & Golds fell 12 runs short against the men newly promoted to the national league set up.

Glenrothes plat Stirling County in the next round. Next t20 action for the first team is in the 3 Counties Cup in June.
