Bill Scott
From 1973 when he played 9 games to 2010 when he played a solitary and final 1st XI league game, W.B. Scott, Bill or Willie to those who know him, amassed a Union league record 13,320 runs for Meigle 1st XI. He also took five 5 wicket hauls. Bill was granted the George Mortimer Lifetime Achievement award at the 2013 Perth & Kinross Sports Awards for not only his playing prowess but also for his long standing work around the club as everything from treasurer to tea ladies convenor to junior coach and groundsman. Steve Plomer of Arbroath United put it well when he stated "Bill Scott is the best amateur batsman never to have played for Scotland."
