Meigle Cricket Club Won By 6 wkts
Match report
The u13s chalked up win number 2 of the season with a comprehensive victory at home to DHSFP.
After opting to bowl first the visitors made a decent start before the home side turned in a fantastic fielding performance to take all 10 high school wickets inside 18 overs. Fergus bagging a remarkable hat trick of direct hit run outs, with another falling to great team work from Iain and Lucy. Well taken catches were held by Jade as well as Lucy and Aedan with 2 from their own bowling. The star performer with the ball was Lucy Scarlett, returning the impressive figures of 4-13 from her 4 overs to rip the heart out of the visitors middle order. DHSFP closed their innings on 53, credit also to Glen who made an impressive first showing behind the stumps.
The meigle openers, Fergus and Josh set about their target with great composure, picking up singles where possible and dispatching the bad ball when it came. They had put on 30 before an unfortunate mix up saw Josh depart run out.
Glen settled any home supporters nerves with some lovely clean hitting and was a little unlucky not to end up with more than 10 before he was stumped.
Fergus reached his 30 with his fifth boundary and it was left to Fred to hit the winning run in partnership with Kyle, in the 13th over.
It was a performance that showed how far this team has come this season with contributions coming from all involved.
