Match report A lovely evening for the first junior fixture at victory park this season saw the under 14 side welcome Arbroath.
The home team batted first and posted a challenging 82. Top run scorers for the men in gold were Josh and Iain. The highlight of the innings though was a huge six over square leg from Fred.
If Meigle were impressive with the bat, they were even better with the ball and in the field. Some accurate bowling and excellent outfield catching reduced the visitors to 27-7, before the home side sportingly allowed 17 year old Scottish women’s international Megan McColl to bat. She managed to steer the away side to the target, but I think we will claim a technical victory here 😜.
Run outs were executed by Josh and Olly, and catches held by Katie and two from Oliver. Fred and Oliver ended with two wickets each.
All in all an excellent all round performance from the home team.
Next Wednesday the under 16s are in action away to Forfarshire.
