Ladies Day a success

14 Aug 2013

Meigle Cricket Club's Ladies Day on Saturday 10 August at the league match against Strathmore, proved to be a real success. Players had been paying an extra £1 in their match fees for a good few weeks to help fund the food and drink for the wives, girlfriends, sisters, mums and grandma's that help keep our club running so smoothly. The result on the park helped make the day, as did the pleasant August weather. Lead organiser of the event Callum Leese said "It was great the ladies had a good day out and had an excuse to get a summery dress on and enjoy a fun day in the marquee we set up. Plans are forming already to make next years bigger and better!". There was a sweepie for what Meigle would score in the first innings, an the pot was shared by Jennifer Drummond and Liz Sturrock, as they both guessed 4 runs either side of the 263 that Meigle finished on. Well done to both!
