Whist Drive & Prize draw - a fun night had by all!

11 Dec 2013

The annual Whist Drive was held at the Kinloch Memorial Hall, which has seen many a whist since it was built in 1913, but perhaps not a prize draw with such an array of top prizes and a huge amount of tickets sold!
The whist drive had its top ladies, top men and best hostess awards, as well as many fantastic raffle prizes won on the night from the 'wee raffle', separate to the Grand draw. The mild night saw 14 tables in play and a healthy turn out of players and committee members to sell raffles, fold raffles and help Elaine & Arlene Sturrock with the half time teas.

The sum of £1,524.37p has been raised and club Bill Morton and club vice-president Peter CJ Drummond, both offer their thanks to all who support our wonderful old club. For a rural club like ours events such as these help keep us going for another year (2014 will be our 138th year, although local historians date informal cricket being played much further back than that in the 19th century in the locality).

There were 18 prizes in the Grand Christmas Prize Draw and the top four prizes were won by:

HD TV: Myra Murdoch, Coupar Angus
£100 Christmas Hamper: Emma Stanhope, Meigle
£50 Christmas Hamper: M Shepherd, Alyth
Sat-Nav: Dave Ward, Newtyle
